Hey all...
I had a pretty good holiday. I'm writing this to you off my brand new MacBook- yes, my PC-based family has begun the switch. After the way Microsoft has treated us, I think it's warrented. Anyways, I've been having a lot of fun getting my iTunes library all organized and neat. I also got $65 in iTunes giftcards from various family members, which has also been fun. But the best present by far are the pajamas Em made for me. I've lived in them for the past three days. ;)
I'm trying to figure out a cheap and easy way to get down to the bay area. Greyhound and Alaska air are a bit too much- I'll look at Amtrak and Travelocity. Maybe I'll just hitch a ride on Craig's list.
Has anyone been watching 'The Wire'? That show rocks, esp. this season. I love the kids- they're so good. And I love how the drug dealers are just like the city officials. Great.
BYE!!!!!
To do:
1. Find way to get to CA
2. Buy ticket back to Boston
3. Call Leslie
4. Set up conference call
5. Lose 40 pounds
6. Transfer files to Mac
7. Name new laptop
8. Reply to Dr. Chen/Meghan

MoooooOOo!
Hey Everyone...
I am so almost done with school it's not even funny. I fly out on the 20th- I can not WAIT to get on that plane!!! Right now I'm just trying to finish up some projects... I have one major presentation on the 18th, and an extra-credit paper due that day too.
'Tis the season for holiday parties, which is nice. On tuesday, one of my professors took my class out to eat at the Red House in Harvard Square- it reminded me a lot of the Wayside Inn. Last night, the advisor of the Student Alumni Association had the executive members over for dinner, and today another professer is hosting a party at his house. Free food! Good times!
Ok. Gotta go.

Good Evening
I know that everyone reading this is deeply concerned about the status of purgatory in Catholic doctrine, so here are some articles of interest:

HEADLINE: Pope dances around limbo issue: Vatican watchers had expected him to scrap idea of place outside Heaven, Hell and Purgatory
BYLINE: MALCOLM MOORE, London Daily Telegraph
DATELINE: ROME BODY:Pope Benedict XVI has decided to keep the issue of limbo in a state of limbo. He was widely expected to consign the place outside Heaven, Hell and Purgatory inhabited by the souls of unbaptised children to the theological scrapyard yesterday. But at an early morning mass to celebrate the end of a two-year investigation into the subject of limbo by the Vatican's leading 30 theologians he decided not to decide."The Pope did not mention it in his homily,'' said Archbishop Bruno Forte, who attended the mass."We are still working on the document. No vote has been taken.''
The Vatican has made it clear that the concept of limbo is outdated and the Pope has said that it is merely "a hypothesis'' and that he would "let it drop.''But it is rumoured that he had remained silent on the subject to foil the Vatican watchers and media outlets who are trying to anticipate his decision."This pope does not like leaks,'' a source said. "When the appointment of Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone as secretary of state was leaked, he postponed the official declaration from Saturday to the following Wednesday.''
Father Luis Ladaria, the secretary of the theological committee, said that recent developments in theology had cast the idea of limbo into crisis."Evidently, God wants to save everyone and does not want to exclude anyone,'' he said.Other Vatican sources confirmed that it was only a matter of time before the ruling was made.LOAD-DATE: October 7, 2006

HEADLINE: World Briefing Europe: Vatican City: Pope Keeps Limbo In Limbo, For Now
BYLINE: REUTERS
BODY:Pope Benedict XVI has decided to keep limbo in limbo a little longer. For nearly a year, the Church's International Theological Commission has been working on a document expected to recommend that he formally abolish limbo, the place to which centuries of Catholic tradition held that babies who die without baptism and worthy pagans went. The Pope said a Mass with members of the commission, but, contrary to some news reports, he did not mention the concept in his homily and announced no decision. A commission member, Archbishop Bruno Forte, said the commission was still fine-tuning its document. ''I think nothing will be ready to hand up to him until 2007,'' he said.

boobooboo
I HAVE AN INTERVIEW WITH SENATOR KENNEDY'S OFFICE ON FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm all a-titter. What do I wear!? What if they ask me a question and all I can think about is the synchronized swimming routine I did to "Born in the USA" when I was 11!? (It's quite possible, as those who know me can attest to.)
In other news, every once in a while outside you can see a snowflake fall from the sky. Our first, uhhh... snow! Yeah!
Can't wait to go home!
I'm hungry. What type of food should I eat? Maybe a salad.
Everybody, pressure Danny into getting onto Facebook. sonwithagun@nullius.com

Thanks is given
Things I am thankful for:
HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!
- Being who I am, flaws and all.
- My family, who are like my backbone and keep my feet on the ground.
- Having friends and being able to be a friend. My friendships are all so wonderful, and I learn so much from them.
- Seasons
- My health- having the strength and vitality to enjoy life, movement, etc.
- That (according to Al Gore) we solved that whole hole-in-the-ozone crisis
- Sweaters, and being able to wear them.
- The Constitution
- Peace in our lives
- Opportunity
- Hemos!
- A million other things.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!

Good 'Morrow to you, Magistrate!
Hey All,
Today is a BAD HAIR DAY. I don't know what's up but it's just icky.
Anyways, how are you? I hope you figured out a solution to that problem you were dealing with. Let me know if I can help.
My ASL Teacher just cancelled our final. He cancelled the midterm, too. All we had to do is a 3-page paper, which I just handed in. Sweeeeet. I love ASL.
Had a nice visit with the Langer family on Sunday. Despite the moisture spirits were high.
AHHHHHHRGHGFGJKHJHGAFDJNJKVHIUHEDVUHEUVIHIUEHWVUIWRHIUHAHHHHHGH.
THANKSGIVINGISALMOSTHEREANDTHENLIKETHREEMOREWEEKSTILLAGHRGHAGHAGHHHH...
(That was me drowning in supressed excitement on the inside)
Right now I'm killing time until I have to go meet with my advisor. Time to Register. I've already applied for graduation and am all set to minor in Hearing and Deafness. I'm applying to internships with Senators Kerry and Kennedy, as well as Patrick's office, if/when he gets settled into the state house. We shall see. Next semester I'll be taking such facinating subjects as "Politics, Advocacy and Public Opinion Research" and "Capstone in Leadership, Politics and Advocacy". Come to think of it, all my classes next semester sound exactly alike.
Gearing up to be a great next semester.
Okey. I'm heading out.
Ta,
Racle

I am not a stuffed bear.
Hey all,
HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!!!
I'm wearing crAzIeIEE socks today. It's laundry day.
Should I care about yearbook? Today's my last chance for a portrait sitting, but I look like crap.
I'm also wearing my Thai Hemophilia shirt. I like.
Wouldn't it be cool to have someone donate a bookshelf to a library in your honor & put a little plaque on it with your favorite quote that has the word "maketh" in it on the end? I think it would be cool.
Get ready for spring registration, everybody!!! Go talk to your advisors, and if they suck, get new ones!!!
OK, tty'all l.

notes
1. I strive to be as eloquent a speaker and magnanimous an opponent as Deval Patrick.
2. Scharffen Berger 70% cacao is the ultimte experience in chocolate.
3. I hope everything turns out ok. I'm really concerned.
4. EMILY IS COMING TO VISIT FRIDAY! I can't express what joy this fact brings. I thought of it walking home tonight and I actually did that helicoptor thing with my arms. Had to struggle not to emit piglet-like squeal.
5. I SAW JESS TODAY! I thought I had dreamed her up, but no, she is flesh-and-blood. We did the exact same things we do every time we get together- CPK & Starbucks (almost). Goood times.
6. I wish I was out of school and unemployed with a large bank account and no social problems to deal with. Wow. I can't think of that too long or I get depressed.
7. This milk and toilet paper situation has officially turned into a crisis.
8. Is it unethical to steal Emerson's toilet paper? Feedback, please.
9. I am so glad you're here.
10. The guy across the hall is sleeping with the girl upstairs. *snigger*
11. I have no life whatsoever. I should just get a bunch of cats. I already keep the blinds drawn at all times and spy on my neighbors
12. My GOD this chocolate is good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pookie poo!
Had a full but good day today.
Woke up and thought I had overslept, but then realised that it was really an hour earlier, so I went back to bed and overslept for real.
Then I did my laundry, and went to volunteer for MassEquality for a few hours, calling people and asking them to let their representatives know they support gay marriage. I called 67 people- 3 said they'd call, three said no, and I left messages for the rest. phew.
Then I went and had a study group for Public Affairs (though I must say my study buddy was most unhelpful, and ended up just copying my notes)
Then mass @ the Paulist center. That place is so amazing... every time I set foot in there I feel like I'm at home and totally welcome. And the center is so focused on social justice for the poor. I cry a little every week I go there 'cause I'm just so amazed at the capacity for good in the world.
I'll leave you with a hymn we sang, one of my favorites.
Deep within,
I will plant my law.
Not on stone,
But in your heart.
Follow me,
I shall lead you home.
You shall be my own,
And I shall be your God.

Just now dropping the first ball...
I just realized that I completely spaced out in Lala land today and missed the alumni tour training I signed up for. I have no idea what I was thinking; I knew it was today, I was planning to go... then I just forgot. I guess this is pretty good, since it's almost November and that's the first thing I've forgotten. But still. For me, this sucks.
Must be more careful in future.
I'm tired. I need to go brush my teeth.
Allow me to leave you with a few words on life, courtosey of my dear friend R.W. Emerson:
"Insist on yourself; never imitate. Your own gift you can present every moment with the cumulative force of a whole life's cultivation; but of the adopted talent of another, you have only an extemporaneous, half possession.
That which each can do best, none but his Maker can teach him. No man yet knows what it is, nor can, till that person has exhibited it. Where is the master who could have taught Shakspeare? Where is the master who could have instructed Franklin, or Washington, or Bacon, or Newton? Every great man is a unique. The Scipionism of Scipio is precisely that part he could not borrow. Shakspeare will never be made by the study of Shakspeare. Do that which is assigned you, and you cannot hope too much or dare too much.
There is at this moment for you an utterance brave and grand as that of the colossal chisel of Phidias, or trowel of the Egyptians, or the pen of Moses, or Dante, but different from all these. Not possibly will the soul all rich, all eloquent, with thousand-cloven tongue, deign to repeat itself; but if you can hear what these patriarchs say, surely you can reply to them in the same pitch of voice; for the ear and the tongue are two organs of one nature. Abide in the simple and noble regions of thy life, obey thy heart, and thou shalt reproduce the Foreworld again. "
Goodnight!

Hey all...
At school... in the library, killing some time before I go to meet my student shadow (she's coming to class with me- so exciting! heh). Not much going on here... the semester is going blessedly swiftly. Mom is out- she leaves Friday. Sunday I'm going to volunteer with MassEquality.
My rise, so swift- My life, so wildly exciting.
By the by, what's the deal with artichokes?

So, what did you learn in school today?
I learned how to write a press release! (sort of).
I also learned how when you start a group project with five people, and then one drops out and another does absolutely nothing, you end up with three people slaving away on a project meant for five people to work on.
And I miss sooooo many people (but I knew that already).
I'm finally getting to bed before midnight. That's a first in a long time.
People I'm thinking about right now: Juliette, Emily, all three Jessicas, Rich, my mom, Grandma S, Leslie, Shelly and a guy named Rich Melton I went to Vista with a long time ago... I wonder if he's on facebook.
Anyways. Goodnight.
